Lighting in public environments needs to be robust and solid to stand the test of time. You want what is being illuminated, such as a park or pedestrian street, to be well lit, but it is also nice to consider the environment itself and adapt it with period-appropriate lighting. Many streets, squares and parks become incredibly welcoming with well-thought-out lighting that has been adapted to match the appearance of buildings and the style of the surrounding area.
At Kulturlampan, we have chosen to work with exceptionally sturdy lighting that is handmade according to historical models. Some of the lamp posts in our range are newly produced from historical prototypes dating from the late 19th century to around the turn of the century. The lighting features beautiful details and ornamentation, such as copper lantern bodies and cast iron posts, crafted in exquisite shapes. These are posts and lighting fixtures that last for a long time without becoming unsightly or dull, and they are exceptionally well suited for public environments. We also offer the option of having a municipal coat of arms or emblem cast into the post as a fitting decoration.
LED light source
For our lighting, you can use an LED light source. The advantage of LED lamps, which is short for Light Emitting Diode, is that by comparison, an LED requires much less energy to achieve the same light intensity as a standard incandescent bulb. A 6W LED is roughly equivalent to a 40W incandescent bulb.
We have very nice LED light sources that you can buy for our luminaires. It is nice to have a slightly warmer light even in public spaces; it illuminates well but isn't too dazzling for passers-by.

To help develop suitable lighting, it can sometimes be nice to get some help along the way with tips and ideas. You are welcome to contact us for advice and if you would like a quote. We also collaborate with lighting designers who can help guide you when it comes to public environments or larger projects.
