The functional lamp is from the early 30s. They are handmade in solid cast aluminium. The arm is powder-coated twice for longer durability. Funkis lamps passar hus med funkisstilen som har lite enklare och rakare linjer på arkitekturen. Men är även mkt vanlig på hus som elektrifierades mellan 1930-1960 talet. Funkislampor kan sitta på ett hörn eller över en källardörr eller över garageporten. Funkislampor är väldigt bra att använda till utomhusbelysning.

Funktionalism – eller Functionalist – as it's commonly known – is a style that emerged in the 1920s and 30s for buildings, gardens and urban planning, following decades of debate about what ideals should prevail in the modern Western world. ”Form follows function” was the basic tenet of this approach, meaning that the architect's or designer's real task was to find the function of a building or object – the form would then arise accordingly. Furniture, everyday items and textiles were also strongly influenced by the new, more functional design.

The glass is opal white and comes as standard with a 150mm diameter glass. We have a larger variant of glass measuring 180mm and a pear-shaped opal glass. A conical glass also fits this fitting. The light from the opal white glass creates a wonderfully cosy white glow.

Glödlamporna har idag ersatts på våra funkislampor med ledteknik. E27 sockel med få watt någonstans runt 3-4 watt räcker idag för att matcha en traditionell glödlampa på 40 watt. Idag kan man belysa ett hus med samma förbrukning av el som en gammal glödlampa.
