Cast iron lamp post a classic

Cast-iron lamp post from our collection, is a very well-made outdoor light fitting for generations to come. This kind of classical lamp post has lit up streets, squares, parks, gardens and houses for centuries. The style is elegant and appealing; you can feel and see that a cast-iron lamp post is a robust luminaire that will grace its spot for a long time!

Materials and construction

Our cast-iron post lanterns are made of solid, high-quality cast iron, hand-poured in the traditional way in sand moulds as has been done for centuries. The post lantern and the post—everything is cast in iron, even the small details such as the top finial and the base flange. The entire outdoor light is treated with anti-rust paint and then hand-painted in a matte black wet paint—precisely to achieve the authentic old-fashioned feel desired for these classic lamps. All our posts are delivered in three parts. The lantern has a lampholder with an E27 fitting, and LED bulbs are perfectly fine to use. The lamp post is CE-marked.

Post lamp with various lampshades

You can choose from a range of lantern shades for our cast-iron post lanterns. We stock round lantern shades made from copper and brass. These round lantern shades were very common in the early 1900s, around the turn of the century. The square and hexagonal lampshades are classic and beautiful, and made entirely of solid cast iron. The glass is genuine and beautifully reflects the light from the lamp. We also have lampshades cast in brass with a copper cap, which look very elegant and stylish when paired with the beautiful cast-iron post. Choose a lampshade to suit your taste; what all our light fittings have in common is that they are built to stand the test of time, both in terms of materials and style!
