Materials and construction

Our complete lampposts are made from solid, high-quality cast iron, cast by hand in the traditional way in sand moulds, just as it has been done for centuries. The post top lantern and the post itself—everything is cast in iron, right down to the small details such as the top finial and the footpeg. The entire outdoor light is treated with anti-rust primer and then hand-painted in a matt black wet paint finish—precisely to achieve the authentic, old-fashioned look desired for these classic lamps. All our posts are supplied in three parts. The lantern has a lampholder with an E27 fitting, and LED bulbs are perfectly suitable for use. The lamppost is CE-marked

Lamp post with different lantern bodies

For our posts, you can choose various lantern heads. We have round lantern heads made of copper and brass. Round lantern heads were very common at the beginning of the 20th century, around the turn of the century. The square and hexagonal lantern heads are classic and beautiful, and made entirely of solid cast iron. The glass is genuine and reflects the light from the lamp beautifully. We also have lantern heads cast in brass with a copper top, which are very elegant and stylish paired with the beautiful cast-iron post. Choose a lantern head to suit your taste; what all our fittings have in common is that they are built to last, both in terms of material and style!
